Having My Hair Cut Off For The Little Princess Trust | Before and After

Hello Everyone,

Today we are talking about my hair, now although this sounds like a terrible self indulgent post I can assure you, this is something a bit different.

For years and years I've had long hair, it's kind of been my trademark and I was very pleased with my long, healthy, waist length locks... But all that changed.

I saw a short section on TV about The Little Princess Trust , a charity launched in 2006 by the parents of Hannah Tarplee who unfortunately lost her battle with cancer in 2005.
Hannah found losing her hair particularly upsetting during her brave battle with cancer and this led to the idea of a charity that could provide beautiful, real hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

The Little Princess Trust takes hair donations (the guidelines are on the website) and you can also take part in fundraising.

So without further ado, here's my before pictures:

As you can see, my hair was down to my waist and was in pretty good condition.

If you're ever in Newcastle, House of Savannah is a brilliant place to have your hair cut, I was lucky enough to be looked after by Martin (Who styled my hair) and Lauren (who added a little bit of a blonde balayage highlight throughout my hair) and this is the finished result:

A pretty big change for me.

So if you have #HairToSpare give a thought to The Little Princess Trust before your next haircut as the hair you're about the throw away could make a huge difference to a little boy or girl somewhere.

Hope you enjoyed this post,

If you've had your hair donated I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Lovely look and very inspiring gesture! How are you feeling with shorter hair? What a shame my hair are way to damaged to donate them. Love, Iga x

  10. Your short hair looks great! I'm so happy that you decided to donate your hair to charity. I've never been able to grow my hair longer than my shoulders because it's a nuisance. I've had friends cut their hair and donate it though and it's just fun to watch the change in them and then seeing those who receive the new wig of real hair. Thanks for sharing this. (:

  27. I'm going to do it! I have natural blonde undyed hair I'm just waiting another 4 weeks to be able to cut well over the 12inch requirement. Definitely worth doing after seeing my mum say 'i feel so ugly' whilst battling breast cancer. Well done you! Jessica Beardmore xx
