Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

Hello Everyone!

Today I thought I would share with you a drink I've been laying lately, Strawberry Lemonade.

Now if you follow me on Instagram *plug plug plug*, chances are you have already seen pictures of my Strawberry Lemonade Recipe on there but either way, I've written it here for you all anyway.

Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

Strawberry Lemonade Recipe:

  • 100g of Sugar
  • 3 Lemons
  • 6 Strawberries
  • Water
This is a rough recipe, add less or more of different ingredients to your own tastes but this is how I like it, I like my lemonade to be a bit tangy, add more sugar if you want it sweeter.

Method:

  1. Put 100g of sugar and enough water to just cover it into a saucepan over a medium heat. Stir now and then and keep watch till the sugar dissolves into the water. Set aside.
  2. Cut the Lemons in half and squeeze the juice of 2 and a half lemons into your serving jug (I use a fork to twist the juice out). Thinly slice the remaining half (discarding the very end as it is just peel) and drop into your jug.
  3. Roughly chop your Strawberries and squeeze them hard over your jug, throw the pulp in with the lemons.
  4. Pour your semi cooled sugar water into the jug,
  5. Top up with cold water and either serve immediately or chill till use.
There we have a lovely summery drink, use a wooden spoon to swirl around the ingredients before serving if you like.

Let me know if you make this I'd love to see your pictures. Tweet them to me on Twitter Or show me your Instagram pics.

Getting Rid of Tangles | Denman Tangle Tamer Ultra

Hello Everyone,

Today we are looking at a new hairbrush called the Tangle Tamer Ultra from Denman.

I have quite long hair that tangles very easily (especially at the nape of my neck, no idea why but that area ALWAYS gets in a huge knot when I wear my hair down) so I'm always on the look out for a brush to help get these knots out with as little trouble or discomfort as possible so when I was offered the chance to try the new Tangle Tamer Ultra, I jumped at the chance.

Getting Rid of Tangles | Denman Tangle Tamer Ultra

One of the first things I noticed about this brush was that the bristles were longer than other brushes I've had for de-tangling and they were bendy too, this gave me hope that it wouldn't rip through my hair.
In fact the bristles are made of nylon and are attached to an air cushioned pad that is supposed to follow the contour of your head for easier brushing.

Next thing I noticed was the vibrant colour of the brush - I know colour doesn't affect the performance of a brush but I for one like to have different colour options in a product. I was sent the yellow one to try but there is also a pink, green, blue and orange version of this brush available.

So how does it perform?
Really well, it de-tangled my mane in less than a minute which is really good for me, I think the super long bristles helped, it didn't pull on my scalp or snag any hair so overall it's a thumbs up from me, however I did get some static in my hair as I was brushing but this brush is aimed at thicker hair and my hair is pretty fine, I often find I get static from products which is a bit annoying, anyone else have the same issues? Any ideas how to stop it?

Hope you enjoyed this review, any if you have any hair tips please do leave them below.

MAC Ocean City Dupe | Essence Blush Up Review

Hello Everyone,

We are going to be looking at another dupe today because saving money is always a good idea.

Today we are looking at a dupe for the Ocean City blush from last year's MAC Proenza Schouler collection - a gorgeous coral ombre blush with two major downsides:

1. Limited Edition so pretty difficult to get hold of now

2. Expensive, let's be honest, MAC Limited Edition products aren't purse friendly.

But oh what a beauty it is. That is why I was so very very excited to find a dupe for just £3.50 and the design is also ombre.
"What is this witchcraft?!" I hear you cry, well my friends, it's Essence Blush Up.

The colours in the pans are both coral ombre and although the MAC version is finer milled, the colour swatched are pretty damn similar.

Overall I'm so impressed with this dupe and had I seen it before I bought the MAC one, I would possibly have just bought the budget version.... But then I never can resist MAC Limited Editions....

Have you tried this blush? Is there anything else from the Essence line you think I should try?

The Game Changer | Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Review

Hello Everyone,

Sometimes we come across a product so amazing it changes our life forever.

*note: I'm talking in a makeup way, this product wont help you win the lottery, get more qualifications or get Channing Tatum to call*

The product in question here is the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector - yes it's a mouthful but aren't they all these days, getting past the long name let me tell you why this is the one.
Yes thats right - 'The One'

Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Review

Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Review

I've tried loads of tinted lip balms, from the super budget (ELF Conditioning Gloss) to the highstreet favourite (Revlon Lip Butters) to the eye wateringly expensive (Dior Lip Glow) because I'm always looking for 'the one' but for various reasons 'the one' has always escaped me - till now.

Clarins are good at lips, they just are, I've loved various bits and bobs from them in the past and so I had high hopes for this balm and I wasn't disappointed, let's start with the packaging, super cute and slim with a corresponding colour on the outer tube making it easy to grab your shade.
I went for red, I hoped the tinted balm would make red an easy, low maintence everyday choice rather than the drama it can be in lipstick form (bleeding colour, fading, red teeth... You know the woes) and it does, the colour is similar to Revlon Lip Butter - Candy Apple but applies way smoother and leaves a glossier finish.
The smell is devine, it smells like caramel - so delicious.
So far I've been wearing this almost everyday for the past few weeks.

Buy it, buy it now.

Have you tried any of these lip perfector balms? Any colour recommendations?

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer Review | Giveaway

Hello Everyone,

Today I have a super exciting post for you all today - a review of my new favourite high end primer and a giveaway so one of you can have one too.

I was so excited to see that YSL had released a primer within their Touche Eclat range, their Touche Eclat foundation is my favourite high end base so lust level was high when I wandered into Debenhams (although I now know it is cheaper on Feel Unique ) and came face to face with it in all its beauty.

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer Review

Look at it!

Encased in a glass bottle with YSL's trademark gold lid, this bottle looks and feel luxurious, sure it's not one suited to travel (broken glass and all the Jazz) but to have at home on display, this ticks all the boxes.
The primer is flecked with gold particles which I worried would make my face glittery but once rubbed in, you can no longer see the gold but you are left with  a beautiful luminosity to your complexion.

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer Review

YSL say:

Blurring & illuminating fluid gel primer
Our 1st light infused primer that evens the look of skintone, blurs pores and fine lines, and helps your make-up last longer.
This new generation primer combines an advanced technology to create an ideal canvas.
The magic light of Touche Eclat in a transparent gel, allows light to diffuse through optimally.
A perfect complexion instantly illuminated, visible pores appear reduced, skin texture looks smoothed and skin luminosity is boosted.
Apply under foundation or wear alone to create a perfect looking canvas.
So how does it perform?

Personally I think this is amazing, it makes my face look healthy and glowing without any grease or shine, it is more of a radiance that looks like it comes from within and can be worn alone or under foundation.
I apply the blur primer with my fingers and just gently rub into my skin as I would a moisturiser.
I found having the Touche Eclat blur primer on my skin helped my foundation apply easier with a flawless finish. I also have found I get a few hours longer from my foundation when I couple it with this primer and so that is a definite win for me, yes it is a pricy addition to your routine but boy is it lovely.

Finally the exciting bit, I loved this primer so much I decided that I would purchase another one to give away here as I have recently hit a personal goal with followers, all you have to do is follow me on Twitter ( there's also bonus entries - the usual follow my blog and Instagram) so good luck everyone!

Revlon Photoready Primer Review | Benefit Porefessional Dupe

Hello Everyone,

Today we are looking at a dupe for the very popular Benefit Porefessional - PhotoReady Prime + Anti-Shine Balm

Revlon Photoready Primer Review | Benefit Porefessional Dupe

Revlon Photoready Primer Review | Benefit Porefessional Dupe

Revlon are one of my favourite highstreet brands so I was excited to try this primer when I saw it in the 'New' section at boots.
I'm majorly into primers but ive not had one with a sponge applicator before, I have to say that I enjoyed the wiping motion around my face with the sponge and I have been using it but equally you could use your fingers to apply this.

I found that it really does help to fill in your pores and fine lines in much the same way as the benefit porefessional, although if I'm 100% honest, I do prefer the benefit option but this is a great budget friendly alternative for the same silky feeling and pore minimising result.

Revlon also say you can use this over the top of your foundation to mattify your skin. I did try that a few times but for me, it kind of started to ball up on my skin and made everything a little bit of a mess... So definitely a one to use UNDER makeup for me.

Have you tried this primer? Does it work over makeup for you?
